The survey is designed to address issues of perceptions in relation to socioeconomic status, migration background, and gender inequality.  The main purpose of the survey is to collect empirical data on perceptions for descriptive and analytical purposes.  The survey is planned to be conducted on a representative sample of the Italian adult population in October 2024.

Socioeconomic perceptions and attitudes:

  • Misperceptions of individual income situation.

  • Perception of the opportunities for getting ahead in life for members of different social groups.
  • Perceived earnings in occupations.
  • Preferences for redistribution and social protection.

Migration:

  • Normative attitudes and perceptions of immigrants.
  • Perceived discrimination.
  • Perceived composition of migrants.
  • Attitudinal barriers to social, economic, and political integration of migrants.

Gender:

  • Perceptions of gender inequality and its change.
  • Perceptions of fairness in the labour market.
  • Attitudes over affirmative action policies.
  • Perceptions over gender based violence.

Global challenges:

  • The perception of the development of global inequality.
  • Perceptions of climate change and its impact, attitudes towards climate change and inequality.
  • Perceptions and attitudes towards international migration.
